Learning fund applications open

December 01, 2016

Applications are being invited for the latest round of the Partnership Fund for the Disadvantaged which is implementing after-school learning and support programmes.

Under the fund, the Government provides grants to encourage business organisations to make matching donations to support welfare bodies in running welfare projects.

The fund's Dedicated Portion for Implementing After-school Learning & Support Programmes launched last year and has approved 150 projects benefitting 60,000 primary and secondary school students.

Welfare organisations with tax-exempted status under Section 88 of the Inland Revenue Ordinance, and public sector primary and secondary schools can apply.

Donations from registered business corporations running businesses in Hong Kong or charitable trusts and foundations established and managed by them will be considered for matching grants.

Projects should be geared towards strengthening whole-person development of target students, including tutorials or programmes that help develop students' learning capability and help relieve parents' stress in parenting.

The application deadline is March 31.
