More groups to get free jabs

October 28, 2016

The Government Vaccination Programme for 2016-17 will launch on November 3 offering more groups free seasonal influenza vaccinations.

Centre for Health Protection Programme Management & Professional Development Branch Head Dr Henry Ng briefed the media on the programme today.

He said the new eligible groups are children aged six to 12-years-old who have financial difficulties, and people receiving Disability Allowance.

On the Vaccination Subsidy Scheme launched on October 20, Dr Ng said over 20,000 doses of seasonal influenza vaccines have been administered so far.

He urged eligible groups of the two programmes to get vaccinated early, while other people should consult their doctors about vaccination.
