The Centre for Health Protection is closely monitoring the Zika virus infection situation in Thailand after the World Health Organisation confirmed two cases of Zika-related microcephaly in the country.
Germany and Spain reported Zika infections acquired by travellers returning from the Maldives in the past week.
Thailand, Singapore, the Philippines, Malaysia and Vietnam also reported new cases.
The centre is maintaining close liaison with the WHO as well as overseas, neighbouring and Mainland health authorities to closely monitor the latest developments.
