Fixed penalties for illegal shopfront extensions will be issued from tomorrow.
With the implementation of the Fixed Penalty (Public Cleanliness & Obstruction) Ordinance, the Government can issue Fixed Penalty Notices on top of summonses for the obstruction of public places.
The fixed penalty level will be set at $1,500.
The Food & Environmental Hygiene Department and Police are empowered to enforce the ordinance.
