The Centre for Health Protection has learned of five avian influenza A (H7N9) cases on the Mainland, involving three men and two women.
The patients are aged 13 to 79. Two are from Fujian, one from Beijing and two from Hebei.
Mainland health authorities have reported 775 human H7N9 cases since 2013.
The centre reminded travellers to the Mainland and other avian influenza-affected areas not to visit live poultry markets and farms and to avoid contact with poultry and their droppings.
