The Department of Health endorsed a local distributor's recall of a slimming product called B-finn from the market today, as it contains undeclared Western drug ingredients orlistat and desoxy-D2PM.
Orlistat is a Part 1 poison while desoxy-D2PM causes hallucinations and severe agitation.
Illegal sale or possession of Part 1 poisons and unregistered pharmaceutical products are criminal offences. The maximum penalty for each offence is a fine of $100,000 and two years' jail.
The department said consumers should stop using the product and seek medical help if they feel unwell.
