The Comprehensive Social Security Assistance caseload stood at 241,848 in May with a total of 358,860 recipients, the Social Welfare Department announced today.
The number of cases was 0.2% lower compared to April.
Low-earnings cases fell 1.3% to 5,874, unemployment cases dipped 1.1% to 15,485, and old-age cases dropped 0.1% to 145,743.
There were 17,766 permanent disability cases, 24,390 ill-health cases and 27,995 single-parent cases.
