The Centre for Health Protection received notification today of a new imported Zika virus infection case in Beijing involving a 35-year-old man.
The patient developed a fever and skin rash on May 21 while in Bolivia.
He returned to Beijing yesterday and was hospitalised. He is in stable condition.
To date, 19 imported Zika cases have been notified on the Mainland.
The centre urged the public to adopt strict anti-mosquito measures during travel. Pregnant women and those planning pregnancy should avoid travel to the affected areas.
