The Comprehensive Social Security Assistance caseload stood at 242,308 in April with a total of 359,390 recipients, the Social Welfare Department announced today.
The number of cases was 0.2% lower compared to March.
Low-earnings cases fell 1.9% to 5,950, unemployment cases dipped 1.2% to 15,657, and old age cases dropped 0.2% to 145,912.
There were 17,786 permanent disability cases, 24,385 ill health cases and 28,073 single parent cases.
