Climbing carnival to be held

May 05, 2016

People unable to join the Bun Scrambling Competition but wanting to climb the bun tower will have the chance to give it a try on Sunday.

The Climbing Carnival, one of the highlights of the 2015 Bun Carnival, will be held at Cheung Chau's Pak Tai Temple Playground from noon to 6pm.

People can make on-site applications to climb the 14-metre tower, which will be used in the Bun Scrambling Competition.

China Hong Kong Mountaineering & Climbing Union members will be there to brief participants on safe climbing techniques.

Invitation relays will also be staged. Ten teams from local tertiary institutions, government departments and public utilities, as well as commercial and industrial organisations will compete.

There will be exhibition booths about bun carnivals, game and handicrafts stalls and variety shows. Visitors can also make a wish on the special Wishing Bun Tower.
