The Department of Health has endorsed Hengan Pharmacare's recall of all batches of Bandi Forte Enema 10ml (registration number: HK-61569) due to a potential quality issue.
Hengan notified the department that the manufacturer is recalling the product as it has been stored in an unauthorised facility in Taiwan.
The product, containing glycerol and sodium chloride, is an over-the-counter medicine used for treating constipation.
Hengan advised that about 40,400 boxes, each containing 10 units, have been supplied to local pharmacies and medicine stores.
The department will monitor the recall. Hengan has set up enquiry hotline 2604 2412.
