The Commission on Poverty today discussed the implementation details of the Low-income Working Family Allowance scheme.
Members noted that applications would be received in three phases from May onwards, and the application arrangements would be publicised when application forms become available in April.
The Working Family Allowance Office would begin to publicise the scheme’s eligibility criteria and the application arrangements, and would advise applicants to start keeping documentary proof of working hours, family income and assets from now on.
The commission also continued to discuss the draft consultation document for December's public consultation on retirement protection.
Members completed deliberations on the first draft on the whole, and will discuss the revised draft at the next meeting. The commission aims to finalise the text in good time so that the public consultation can be launched as scheduled.
