Public to be engaged in TST plan

September 02, 2015

The Leisure & Cultural Services Department will submit a public engagement work plan as soon as possible to better engage the public in the design and operation of the Tsim Sha Tsui promenade.

The department told the media today that it, together with the New World Development Company, once again consulted the Harbourfront Commission's Task Force on Harbourfront Developments in Kowloon, Tsuen Wan & Kwai Tsing on the Tsim Sha Tsui Waterfront Revitalisation Plan yesterday.

The task force expressed views on the plan, including the facilities’ design and future management. It also proposed further stepping up public consultation and engagement to enhance the plan.

Meanwhile, the Avenue of Stars will be closed for repairs and improvement works in early October.

For works concerning the Tsim Sha Tsui East promenade and Salisbury Garden, the department will continue to take into account views to further enhance the design proposal, and consult the task force again before starting works in the first quarter of 2016.

It will also continue to discuss with the company the signing of a new management entrustment deed, taking into account public views on future management.
