Secretary for Food & Health Dr Ko Wing-man visited Cheung Chau today to inspect the island's environmental hygiene and healthcare services.
He saw Hoi Bung Ting pavilion, which is used by residents to pay their respects to people who have died.
He then went to St John Hospital where he was briefed on its services.
He later visited Cheung Chau Sports Centre, and talked to residents and shop operators to learn more about their daily life and business.
He also spoke with District Council members.
