Director of Leisure & Cultural Services Michelle Li opened Kwun Tong Promenade today, giving the public a spectacular view of Kai Tak Cruise Terminal, Victoria Harbour and Hong Kong Island.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, she said the kilometre-long promenade is a key public open space in the Kai Tak Development Project.

At 4.2 hectares, the promenade's landscaped area is equipped with sophisticated features that produce lighting and music at night.

It is architecturally designed for good ventilation and full utilisation of natural daylight.

Its facilities include a performance area, spectator stands, children's play area, sensory garden, elderly fitness corner, viewing gallery, and waterfront tree walk, plus it has artistic models of a mechanical crane and recycled paper bundles to commemorate Kwun Tong’s history as a cargo handling area.

The promenade is within walking distance from Kwun Tong and Ngau Tau Kok MTR stations.
