The Government does not plan to raise public hospital fees and charges at the moment, Secretary for Food & Health Dr Ko Wing-man said today.
Speaking to reporters after a radio programme this morning, he noted that a fee adjustment remains one of the tools to regulate service provision and utilisation.
It is also one of the tools potentially affecting the balance of public and private healthcare systems, Dr Ko added.
Responding to reporters’ questions on lead-tainted water this afternoon, Dr Ko noted that from a health perspective, it is important for those who been exposed to water with a lead level exceeding World Health Organisation standards to stop continuous intake of it, adding that the provision of a water filter is also important.
