Influenza activity further decreased last week, indicating the end of the summer flu season, the Centre for Health Protection said today.
The percentage of positive respiratory specimens received by the centre dropped from 10.3% to 6.7% last week.
There were 183 flu-associated admissions among adults as of yesterday, including 133 deaths. Four cases involving children were recorded, with no deaths.
The centre will continue to monitor influenza activity through a wide range of surveillance data.
