Secretary for Home Affairs Lau Kong-wah today joined in the fun of Sport For All Day at Hong Kong Park Sports Centre.

Mr Lau, Director of Leisure & Cultural Services Michelle Li and other guests viewed a demonstration of fitness exercises by the Physical Fitness Association before joining members of the public to do a set of simple exercises, which have been specially designed to tie in with this year's theme "Fitness for Health".

Mr Lau then watched a wheelchair basketball competition for the disabled and able-bodied, parent-child mini-games played by families, a towel exercise, a social dance and table-tennis demonstrations.

The event was organised by the Leisure & Cultural Services Department for the seventh consecutive year to promote sport for all.

The department offered 190 free recreation and sports programmes at designated sports centres across Hong Kong today, ranging from health talks and exercise demonstrations, to fitness corners, parent-child sports programmes, sports participation sessions, and sports activities for people with disabilities.
