The LINK Support Service Centre for ethnic minorities in Kwai Tsing District officially opened today.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Permanent Secretary for Home Affairs Betty Fung said: "In the 2014 Policy Address, the Chief Executive announced the Government would launch a series of initiatives to strengthen support for ethnic minorities. One of them is to set up a support service centre for them in Kwai Tsing District."
The centre’s services have been well received since it started operation last October. She thanked the operator Hong Kong Community Network for their dedicated efforts.
The centre is equipped with activity rooms, classrooms, a youth activity room, and a learning and entertainment corner and library. Over 3,000 people have used its services.
The Home Affairs Department now funds six centres and two sub-centres, delivering a series of support services for ethnic minorities to aid their integration into the community.
