The Centre for Food Safety today banned the import of poultry products, including eggs, from Dak Lak in Vietnam.
The ban was imposed after the World Organisation for Animal Health announced outbreaks of highly pathogenic avian influenza in the province.
The centre has contacted Vietnamese authorities and will monitor developments.
About 195,000 poultry eggs were imported to Hong Kong from Vietnam last year.
