Thousands of people gathered in Cheung Chau today, to enjoy the celebratory events of the traditional bun festival, including a grand parade.

The parade was held in the afternoon during which children dressed in costumes toured the island’s alleyways along with other performers, attracting much attention.

The traditional steamed bun, a symbol of well-being, and items made in its shape filled the island’s stalls.

The bun scrambling competition, slated for midnight, was cancelled due to inclement weather.
