The maximum rates of the rent allowance under the Comprehensive Social Security Assistance Scheme will rise 6.7% from February 1, the Social Welfare Department announced today.
The adjustment is based on the movement of the Consumer Price Index (A) rent index for private housing.
On the revision of the standard payment rates under the CSSA Scheme, and rates of Old Age Allowance, Old Age Living Allowance, Disability Allowance and the Guangdong Scheme under the Social Security Allowance Scheme, details will be announced after the Legislative Council approves the adjustment proposals.
