A total of 1,399 summonses were issued during a citywide pedestrian safety campaign from January 21 to 27.
Police issued 1,140 summonses for failing to comply with a traffic light signal, 114 summonses for crossing the road within 15 metres of a footbridge or pedestrian subway, and 60 summonses for general jaywalking.
Police distributed 8,500 publicity leaflets at 241 locations across the city, asking the public to comply with road safety regulations.
