A United Nations delegation has arrived in Hong Kong for a seminar and field study programme on fostering co-operation on accessibility for the disabled.

The 60 delegates come from 10 member states of the UN Economic & Social Commission for Asia & the Pacific, plus the Mainland and Macau.

At the opening ceremony today, Permanent Secretary for Labour & Welfare Annie Tam briefed the delegation on the Government's efforts in building a barrier-free environment.

The delegation then visited Austin MTR Station to see its user-friendly facilities, like lifts and a series of wheelchair enabling facilities.

The delegates will also visit Hong Kong Disneyland, Domain mall, Yau Tong Estate and Ko Shan Theatre to see their accessibility over the next two days.
