The monthly ovitrap index for September dropped to 3.9% from 6.3% in August.
The Food & Environmental Hygiene Department said that among the 44 areas surveyed last month, positive ovitrap indices were recorded in 34 of them, ranging from 1.8% to 11.3%, with the highest level in Ho Man Tin and Yuen Chau Kok.
For port areas the monthly ovitrap index for September fell to 0.3% from 1.3% in August.
The ovitrap indices reflect the prevalence of Aedes albopictus, a mosquito vector for Dengue fever transmission.
