HK Week opens in Taipei

Hong Kong Week 2014, an annual cultural exchange event with Taiwan, launched in Taipei today.

 

Hong Kong-Taiwan Economic & Cultural Co-operation & Promotion Council Chairman Charles Lee and Vice-Chairman Fredric Mao officiated at the opening ceremony.

 

The event features a host of programmes offering Taiwan a closer look at the essence and spirit of Hong Kong culture.

 

Music lovers will be treated to the first on-stage collaboration between a Hong Kong and Taiwanese Chinese opera troupe.

 

The works of Yasi, one of Hong Kong's most influential poets and writers, will also be introduced during the event in an exhibition jointly organised by the Art Promotion Office and the Hong Kong Fringe Club.

 

There is also an exhibition of 13 items showcasing Hong Kong's folk traditions.

 

Hong Kong Week is presented by the Hong Kong-Taiwan Cultural Co-operation Committee in association with the Hong Kong Economic, Trade & Cultural Office, and supported by the Hong Kong Tourism Board, the Hong Kong Trade Development Council and the Hong Kong Film Development Council.
