The Social Welfare Department reminds eligible senior citizens to apply early for the Guangdong Scheme as the special application arrangement will expire on September 30.
Under the special arrangement, people who have already moved to Guangdong can benefit from the scheme without the need to return and stay in Hong Kong to fulfil the requirement of residing in Hong Kong continuously for one year immediately before the date of application.
When the special arrangement expires, applicants must satisfy all eligibility requirements if they want to apply for the allowance.
