Secretary for Labour & Welfare Matthew Cheung today met three youths who have emerged from their reclusive past and reintegrated into society through the Withdrawn Youth Support Network Enhancement Project.
Mr Cheung said he was delighted to know they have started studying again and one has successfully completed a Vocational Training Council course.
The project is funded by the Community Investment & Inclusion Fund to reach out to young people who are leading an isolated life and help them reintegrate into society.
In view of growing concern on the “hidden youths” issue, the Social Welfare Department has allocated $17 million from the Lotteries Fund to run projects to help young people at risk.
