Two fresh beef samples have failed Centre for Food Safety tests. Prosecution will be taken against the vendors concerned.

The samples were taken from shops in Kwun Tong and Fa Yuen Street Market, and they were found to have sulphur dioxide, a preservative not permitted in fresh meat.

The centre has issued warning letters to shops who sold the unsatisfactory samples.
