The Centre for Health Protection is investigating a confirmed case of invasive meningococcal infection affecting a 56-year-old woman.
She fell ill yesterday and was admitted to Tuen Mun Hospital.
She was diagnosed with a central nervous system infection, and tested positive for Neisseria meningitides. She is stable.
She travelled to Shenzhen from July 12 to 13. Her home contacts are asymptomatic.
This is the fourth confirmed case this year. Three cases were filed last year with four in 2012.
