Free sport day set for Aug 3

The Leisure & Cultural Services Department will hold the 2014 Sport For All Day on August 3. Leisure facilities and sports programmes will be free for the public to use.

 

Bookings can be made at all Leisure Link booking counters from 9am on July 27.

 

For indoor leisure facilities, badminton, tennis, basketball, netball, volleyball and squash courts, table tennis and billiard tables, climbing walls, bowling greens, golf facilities, fitness rooms, a cycling track, activity rooms and dance rooms will open free.

 

For outdoor leisure facilities, tennis and practice courts, bowling greens, batting cages, rope courses, climbing walls, archery ranges and golf facilities will open free.

 

Excluding camp facilities, sports grounds, and artificial and natural turf pitches will open free. Public pools, excluding Wan Chai Swimming Pool, and craft at water sports centres will be free as well.

 

Each person can only book one free session irrespective of the types of facilities. No prior booking is required for swimming pools.

 

Various recreation and sports activities will be held on the day in 18 designated sports centres for the public, including rope skipping demonstrations and participation activities, exercise talks and demonstrations, fitness corners, parent-child sports programmes, and sports participation activities.
