Hospital Authority consultation completed

July 20, 2014

A steering committee to review the Hospital Authority has completed its consultation work, Secretary for Food & Health Dr Ko Wing-man said today.

Briefing reporters, Dr Ko said one of the major opinions received is on the imbalance in resources allocation between hospital clusters. The committee is inclined to allocate resources according to the population size, in principle.

There are also views about the inconsistency in human resources policies between clusters, and the lack of efficacy for the authority’s headquarters in mobilising resources between clusters to meet extraordinary demands.

Dr Ko said the committee will review and examine the opinions received, and aims at completing its report by the end of the year at the earliest.
