Health chief visits Kwun Tong

Secretary for Food & Health Dr Ko Wing-man visited Kwun Tong District today to learn about the progress of its redevelopment and mental health services.

 

He visited the Urban Renewal Authority's Kwun Tong Resource Centre and was briefed by the authority's Kwun Tong Project Director Ernest Lee. They also discussed future medical and environmental hygiene services after the redevelopment.

 

He then visited the Medical Health Association, which provides comprehensive rehabilitation services for the mentally handicapped and recovering mental illness patients, including residential services, day-time training, vocational rehabilitation training and community support services.

 

He thanked the association for its efforts in promoting mental health services in areas such as medicine and health, education, social communication, leisure, entertainment and sports, satisfying the needs of mental patients and the mentally handicapped.

 

He also met with district councillors and discussed ways to boost the district’s hospital and clinic services, as well as food safety and environmental hygiene.
