Secretary for Food & Health Dr Ko Wing-man convened a meeting of the Steering Committee on Serious Response Level under the Preparedness Plan for Influenza Pandemic today to study the two confirmed human cases of H7N9 in Hong Kong and contingency measures.
The Hospital Authority briefed the committee on the conditions of the two patients, and the latest epidemiological investigation findings.
The committee maintained its view that the two cases are sporadic imported ones.
The Centre for Health Protection and the Hospital Authority sent officers to Shenzhen this morning to meet clinical experts and officials from the Health & Family Planning Commission and the Centre for Disease Control & Prevention of Guangdong Province and Shenzhen City.
