5 Zhejiang H7N9 cases reported

The Centre for Health Protection verified with the National Health & Family Planning Commission today five human cases of avian influenza A(H7N9) in Zhejiang.
 
The cases involve two men, aged 58 and 76, and three women, aged 68, 79 and 81. The 76-year-old man died today. The other four patients are receiving treatment in hospital and their condition is serious.
 
As of 9pm today, laboratory results have confirmed a total of 101 cases of avian influenza A(H7N9), 38 in Zhejiang, 33 in Shanghai, 23 in Jiangsu, three in Anhui, three in Henan, and one in Beijing.
 
No human case of avian influenza A(H7N9) has been identified so far in Hong Kong.
