Girl treated for EV infection

The Centre for Health Protection today investigated a case of severe paediatric enterovirus (EV) infection with meningitis complications affecting a six-year-old girl.
 
The girl fell ill on February 22 and was admitted to Kwong Wah Hospital on February 27.
 
She tested positive for EV infection. She is stable.
 
The girl has no travel history, and her home contacts were asymptomatic.
