CE applauds Olympic bronze

Chief Executive CY Leung today congratulated cyclist Lee Wai-sze for winning Hong Kong's first medal at the London Olympics. She took bronze in the Women’s Keirin event.
 
Mr Leung said Hong Kong people are very proud of Lee.
 
"Her perseverance and tenacity has best exemplified the can-do spirit of Hong Kong. Hong Kong people are all graced by Lee Wai-sze’s outstanding achievement."
 
He said the Government will continue giving full support to sports development, and wished Hong Kong athletes success in the forthcoming competitions.
 
Secretary for Home Affairs Tsang Tak-sing also congratulated her, saying she is home-grown elite cyclist who has excelled herself and fully demonstrated good sportsmanship.
 
"Lee Wai-sze has contributed to Hong Kong’s Olympics medal tally, bringing not only honour to Hong Kong people, but also encouragement to athletes of the Hong Kong delegation."
 
He said he looked forward to all Hong Kong athletes giving their best and attaining outstanding performances in the remaining Olympic competitions.
