Boy critical with severe flu

The Centre for Health Protection is investigating a confirmed case of severe paediatric influenza A infection affecting a four-year-old boy. His condition is critical.
 
He fell ill on May 10 and was admitted to Princess Margaret Hospital on May 17. He was transferred to the paediatric intensive care unit on May 21.
 
He tested positive for influenza A.
 
He has no recent travel history and his home contacts have no symptoms.
