21 ill in flu outbreak

The Centre for Health Protection is investigating an influenza-like illness outbreak at a Yuen Long residential care home for the elderly, affecting 20 residents and one staff member.
 
The six men and 15 women, aged 43 to 98, have fallen ill since May 10.
 
Sixteen required hospitalisation, and 12 have since been discharged. All are stable.
 
The centre’s staff have visited the institution and provided health advice to its management.
