A healthy and happy workplace can boost staff morale, enhance their sense of belonging and job satisfaction, raise productivity and establish a positive corporate image.
This was the message from Centre for Health Protection Controller Dr Thomas Tsang, speaking at the Health@work.hk
Pilot Project Recognition Ceremony today.
He said the workplace is an ideal setting for promoting health and a base for prevention and control of non-communicable diseases.
The Health@work.hk Pilot Project was conducted from September 2010 to December last year, calling on employers and employees to co-operate to create a healthy working environment.
Nineteen organisations took part in the first phrase, forming a wellness committee to assess its organisational and staff health needs, and implement health promotion measures.
