Probe launched into data loss

Kwai Chung Hospital has apologised for the loss of a USB flash drive containing patient data, and has launched an investigation into the incident.
An occupational therapist at the hospital lost her personal USB flash drive on February 16. She reported the loss to Police. It contains records and reports on 59 patients. The device is not encrypted or password protected.
The hospital has reported the case to the Hospital Authority and the Office of the Privacy Commissioner for Personal Data. It is contacting the patients and their families to inform them of the incident. So far it has not received any enquiries or reports related to the data leak.
