Foreign currency reserves up

Hong Kong’s foreign currency reserve assets rose to US$431.3 billion in December from US$422.1 billion in November, the Monetary Authority said today.

 

Including unsettled foreign exchange contracts, foreign currency reserve assets at the end of December increased to US$422.7 billion from US$413.5 billion in November.

 

The reserve assets represent more than seven times the currency in circulation or 48% of Hong Kong dollar M3.
