The Census & Statistics Department has launched the Annual Survey of Economic Activities for 2016.
The survey will collect statistical data on business performance and operating characteristics of various economic sectors to evaluate their contribution to Hong Kong's Gross Domestic Product.
Letters and questionnaires have been sent to 20,000 selected establishments.
The survey is mandatory. Management of the selected establishments must return the completed questionnaires by the end of May.
The information sought includes type of ownership, origin of investment, floor area, number of employees, compensation of employees, operating expenses, business receipts and capital expenditure.
