Secretary for Commerce & Economic Development Gregory So met senior Irish officials in Dublin today to deepen Hong Kong's bilateral ties with the country.
He met Minister of State for Financial Services Eoghan Murphy, saying Hong Kong and Ireland share similarities in economic development and strategic positions as the gateways to Mainland China and Europe.
He said he looks forward to building closer ties with Ireland in the financial services sector and beyond.
He then met Minister for Jobs, Enterprise & Innovation Mary Mitchell O'Connor, saying there is much room for further co-operation between Hong Kong and Ireland in various areas, like the information and communications technology and I&T sectors.
Mr So later met Hong Kong people living in the Irish capital before briefing members of the Dublin Chamber of Commerce on the opportunities offered by Hong Kong to Irish businesses.
