Secretary for Commerce & Economic Development Gregory So has shared Hong Kong’s experience of developing human capital at the 28th Asia-Pacific Economic Co-operation Ministerial Meeting.

Speaking at a plenary session titled “Developing Human Capital” yesterday, Mr So highlighted government measures to support entrepreneurs.

He noted Invest Hong Kong’s one-stop portal, startmeup.hk, where local and overseas start-ups share success stories and useful resources.

To encourage technological start-ups, the Government provides financial support for research and development activities in tertiary and technology institutes, and facilitates the commercialisation of the start-ups’ achievements.

Mr So also held bilateral meetings with trade ministers of APEC member economies.

In his meeting with Chilean Minister of Foreign Affairs Heraldo Muñoz Valenzuela, the two officials signed an investment agreement.

He will return on November 20 after stopping over in New York, where he will have breakfast with artists and musicians from Hong Kong.
