Double Dutch:  Financial Secretary John Tsang meets Treasurer-General of the Ministry of Finance of the Netherlands Hans Vijlbrief.

Financial Secretary John Tsang concluded his visit to the Netherlands today by meeting officials and promoting Hong Kong business in The Hague.

 

Mr Tsang met the Chairman of the Netherlands Hong Kong Society Hans Poulis and Dutch businessmen to discuss Hong Kong's favourable business environment.

 

He said it is built on a fair and open market, an extensive international trade and investment network, the rule of law and an independent judiciary, and a simple tax regime with low tax rates, as well as the free flow of information, capital and talent.

 

"Dutch businesses can partner with counterparts in Hong Kong in seizing the massive economic opportunities of the Mainland of China, as well as the enormous potential of the grand and visionary Belt & Road initiative," he said.

 

Yesterday Mr Tsang met the local Hong Kong community and attended a dinner hosted by the Chinese Ambassador to the Netherlands Wu Ken.

 

Mr Tsang also met Treasurer-General of the Ministry of Finance Hans Vijlbrief to discuss strengthening trade and investment ties.
