Talent training:  Secretary for Financial Services & the Treasury Prof KC Chan launches the Pilot Programme to Enhance Talent Training for the Asset & Wealth Management Sector.

Secretary for Financial Services & the Treasury Prof KC Chan launched the Pilot Programme to Enhance Talent Training for the Asset & Wealth Management Sector today.

He said the programme will deepen students' understanding of the asset and wealth management sector and attract them to join it after graduation.

The event featured a panel and breakout discussion, sharing sessions and an industry promotion exhibition comprising 15 exhibitors including local and international asset and wealth management companies as well as industry associations.

Prof Chan said he hopes it helps students gain more understanding and insights into career opportunities and functional roles in the front, middle and back offices of the asset and wealth management sector, and the qualifications needed to enter the field.

The three-year scheme includes promotion and education, an internship programme for undergraduate students, and a financial incentive regime for the professional training of in-service practitioners in the financial services industry.
