Nicholas Yang to visit SF

October 01, 2016

Secretary for Innovation & Technology Nicholas Yang will leave for San Francisco tomorrow for the Digital Cities Summit hosted by Stanford University and PARC.

Mr Yang will take part in a panel discussion on October 3 on the rise of urbanisation and digital technologies.

The first annual Digital Cities Summit will bring together 200 global CEOs, entrepreneurs and policy makers at the Stanford campus, and will focus on how disruptive technology is changing the way people, governments and commercial organisations interact.

Mr Yang will call on senior officials of San Francisco and San Jose and speak at a dinner hosted by the Hong Kong Economic & Trade Office to promote the development of innovation and technology as Hong Kong’s new economic driver.

He will attend a lunch with board members of the Hong Kong Association of Northern California to share his vision for Hong Kong in the area of innovation and technology. He will also visit prominent technology enterprises, start-up accelerators and co-working spaces in Silicon Valley.

Mr Yang will meet members of the Hong Kong community, and hold a breakfast meeting with venture capitalists and angel investors.
