Market insights:  Chief Executive CY Leung speaks at the Forum on Professional Services.

The Commerce & Economic Development Bureau held the Forum on Professional Services at the Central Government Offices today.

Chief Executive CY Leung welcomed more than 200 representatives from professional bodies, trade and industry organisations and research institutions, as well as members of the Working Group on Professional Services under the Economic Development Commission.

The forum discussed the market outlook outside Hong Kong for the professional services sector, and how the sector may step up outreaching efforts.

Meanwhile, the bureau introduced its plans to launch a new $200 million Professional Services Advancement Support Scheme in the next quarter to the participants, adding that its preparation will take into account views collected from the forum.

The scheme, which will support Hong Kong professional services in enhancing exchanges and co-operation with their counterparts in external markets, was announced in this year’s Policy Address.

Views are welcome and may be sent to the bureau’s website or by email.

Secretary for Commerce & Economic Development Gregory So, Secretary for Development Paul Chan and the Commissioner for Belt & Road Yvonne Choi also attended.
