Secretary for Commerce & Economic Development Gregory So and Commissioner for Tourism Cathy Chu today announced the results of the Food Truck Pilot Scheme's Cook-off Challenge.
Sixteen winners and their signature dishes were selected from 51 finalists.
They included eight Chinese, four Western and four international dishes, such as sakura shrimp umami sauce fried rice, "The Spaniard" grilled cheese sandwich, and the "Victoria Peak" barbecue pork 'cru-batta-wich'.
The cook-off challenge was to select operators for the two-year food truck scheme, announced in last year's Budget address.
It will allow 16 food trucks to operate in eight tourist districts across Hong Kong to diversify the city's tourism industry.
They are scheduled to start business towards the end of the year.
